What to Expect
A 75-minute service with traditional liturgy, hymns, and a sermon—child-friendly and grounded in Lutheran teaching.
Services follow a predictable, reverent rhythm that balances ancient practice with present relevance. We begin with gathering songs and a call to worship, move into readings and a sermon drawn from the Revised Common Lectionary, and conclude with communion and sending. The liturgy helps everyone—regulars and newcomers alike—participate fully, even if unfamiliar with church traditions.
Children are warmly welcomed throughout. Many families stay for the full service, while others use our nursery for infants and toddlers. During the offering, a brief children’s message takes place near the front, after which kids join their groups or return to families. Hymns include both traditional and newer pieces, printed in the blue hymnal and projected on screens.
Sermons aim to connect scripture with daily life, avoiding jargon and focusing on grace, compassion, and faithful living. You’ll hear references to Bible stories, Christian tradition, and real-world struggles. The tone is gentle but direct—inviting, not demanding. Afterward, the pastor often stays near the front for quiet conversations or prayer requests.
