Find a Plumber
How It Works

Book

Only book when you’re ready—no hidden charges, auto-billing, or sales pressure, ever.

Every plumber’s quote includes a breakdown: labor, materials, and any potential additional fees (like permit filing or demolition). They’ll also confirm whether travel time is included or if distance adds extra cost—this varies by neighborhood and their service radius. Some charge a flat rate for basic jobs like unclogging drains, while others use time-and-materials. You can ask for more detail before booking, and they must respond in writing before you commit.

There’s no obligation until you select and confirm a plumber directly. You’ll receive a summary with the scope, estimate, and expected arrival window—none of this is automated booking or pre-filled appointments. If your needs change after booking (like realizing you also need drain cleaning), you can notify the plumber and request a revised estimate before they arrive. Most will hold the original estimate for 24 hours if the scope doesn’t expand significantly.

Boston requires all licensed plumbers to provide a written estimate and scope before work begins on jobs over a certain dollar amount. That’s why we require this step: to protect you and ensure fairness. If a plumber asks for payment before providing this or pressures you to approve on-site without explanation, we’ll remove them from the directory. You control the timing and terms—you book only when every detail aligns with your expectations.
