Arrive, check in at the welcome circle, and step into the world we’ve built together.
Everyone leaves with marks on their hands and echoes in their pockets.
What we bring is clean, what we leave behind feeds the next beginning.
Music is not background—it’s shared nerve, breath, and pulse, made visible and shared.
Axis Festival is built on reciprocity—not extraction. We gather for three days in a reclaimed urban field where sound, soil, and stories co-evolve. Our sustainability pledge covers zero-waste kitchens, solar-powered stages, and artist-led remediation projects. Community guidelines center consent, care, and curiosity: no passive consumption, only active belonging.

100% waste-diverted grounds, closed-loop water, and on-site composting co-op

Consent-first interaction zones, quiet zones, and shared facilitation practices

Artists paid upfront, no sponsors with extractive practices, no algorithmic lineups
Forget chronological listings. Here, the music unfolds like chapters: ‘Feedback Fields’ for analog distortion pilgrims, ‘Tide Lines’ for tide-pool ambience and field recording collages, ‘Mud & Mesh’ for bassweight and granular glitch. Each section includes artist portraits, audio previews, and handwritten performance notes—not bios, but maps of where the sound lives.
Heavy analog, tape-hiss drones, and extended technique improvisation
Microtonal field recordings, water-sounds, and ambient as ecology
Dancefloor experiments, modular noise, and polyrhythmic circuit-bending
The festival grounds are a live canvas, layered across five zones: the Echo Circle (sound bath dome), the Paper Mill Grounds (recycled-paper sculpture grove), the Resin Pit (bioplastic clay workshop), the Whispering Gallery (binaural listening booth), and the Root Cellar (fermented sound archive). Each zone invites tactile participation—no viewing only, no passive standing.
Resonant clay chamber where voices become architecture
Large-scale installations crafted from reclaimed fiber and pulp
Hands-on bioplastic molding and sculptural co-creation

Belonging is designed in, not bolted on. We offer sliding-scale tickets, accessible shuttles from major transit hubs, ASL interpretation, sensory-safe zones, and an on-site accessibility lounge staffed by disabled artists. Work-trade roles span sound rigging, kitchen support, installation caretaking, and community coordination—no prior expertise required, just presence and willingness.
The festival doesn’t end when the final bow—just shifts. Post-event, we publish a public impact report, share raw field recordings in the community archive, and open early access to next year’s ticket tiers for returning participants. Every item is hosted in open formats (WAV, TIFF, EPUB), no walled gardens.

Downloadable field recordings, workshop transcripts, and artist zines

Public metrics on waste diverted, artist payments, and volunteer hours

Priority pass for past participants—no bots, no fees, no algorithms
