How a domain transaction works

Every DomainEscrow.com transaction follows five defined steps. The process gives buyers, sellers, lessors, lessees, and brokers a shared record of the terms and a predictable path to closing.

1

Initiation

The Seller/Lessor, Buyer/Lessee, or Broker starts the transaction online and submits the relevant domain and deal terms.

2

Notification

The initiating party receives confirmation. The other named party receives the transaction terms by email and is asked to agree to them.

3

Agreement

After the terms are agreed, JJN Solutions Law, PLLC emails both parties a formal Transaction Agreement containing the deal terms and each party’s contact information.

4

Authorization

Both parties sign and return the Transaction Agreement. The Buyer/Lessee then receives payment instructions, while the Seller/Lessor receives domain transfer instructions.

5

Fulfillment & Closing

The Buyer/Lessee has a five-business-day inspection period to confirm full administrative control of the domain. Once obligations are confirmed, funds are released to the Seller/Lessor and the domain is transferred to the Buyer/Lessee on the next business day for an Escrow Service transaction. For a Transfer Service transaction, the domain transfers directly between the parties and funds are released the next business day after the administrator confirms completion.

3

How domain transaction works

1

Initiation

The escrow provider verifies the contract and confirms the necessary details.

2

Affirmation

The escrow provider confirms that the transaction has been completed and records the final documentation.

3

Authorization

The buyer verifies the completion of the transaction and confirms that all requirements have been met.

4

Fulfillment & Closing

The transaction is completed and the domain is transferred. The escrow provider releases payment to the seller.

Answers before you begin

The Fee Calculator can help estimate your expected cost before you initiate a transaction. For questions about a specific deal, contact the administrator at 1.888.897.0886.

How are fees calculated?

Fees for the Domain Transfer Service and Domain Escrow Service are based on the transaction amount and the role of the party using the service. Use the Fee Calculator for an estimate.

How long does a transaction take?

Timing depends on the parties’ responses, signed authorization, payment, and domain transfer. The Buyer/Lessee receives a five-business-day inspection period, and approved release or transfer occurs on the next business business day after fulfillment is confirmed.

Who can start a transaction?

The Seller/Lessor, Buyer/Lessee, or Broker can initiate a transaction online.

What happens after initiation?

The initiating party receives confirmation, and the other named party receives the transaction terms by email and is asked to agree to them.

How are domain transfers verified?

The administrator coordinates transfer instructions and confirms that the Buyer/Lessee has received full administrative control before the transaction closes.

When are escrow funds released?

For an Escrow Service transaction, funds are released to the Seller/Lessor on the next business day after both parties’ obligations are confirmed and the transaction closes.

Administered by JJN Solutions Law, PLLC

DomainEscrow.com services are provided by JJN Solutions Law, PLLC, which administers each transaction as a neutral intermediary and holds transaction funds in its regulated attorney trust account. The trust account is an account-custody arrangement; it does not turn the service into legal services or create an attorney-client relationship.

What this service is

Domain escrow and transfer services are administrative and transaction-facilitation services. We hold funds, verify agreed conditions, coordinate domain movement between registrars, and disburse funds when the transaction completes.

What this service is not

The service is not legal advice or the practice of law. It does not create an attorney-client relationship, attorney-client privilege, a duty of confidentiality owed to a client, or conflict-of-interest protections.

Our neutral role

We do not represent either party or advise whether a transaction is advisable, whether the price is fair, whether a domain is worth the purchase price, or whether the terms serve a party’s interests. Each party is responsible for its own commercial and legal decisions and should obtain independent advice.

Need separate legal advice?

Legal services from JJN Solutions Law, PLLC are separate, require a written engagement agreement and conflicts check, and are billed separately at the firm’s hourly rates. Nothing on this website, in transaction documents, or in transaction correspondence constitutes legal advice.
