Liminal Gallery

Transmissions from the liminal void — found photographs, drugstore prints and slide sheets pulled from the pile on the desk. Every image was taken somewhere that was never meant to be looked at.

01 — loose on the desk

Liminal Visuals

Polaroids and drugstore prints in a loose stack, a slide sheet half under the lamp. Pull one out and it comes forward under the bulb; turn it over and read the ballpoint note on the back — a place name, a time, a sentence that stops mid-thought. Empty lobbies, motel corridors, service bays, pools drained at an hour nobody can place. Free to browse, endlessly usable as reference for dreamcore, backrooms and analog-horror work.

▮ light table idle — lift a print to read its back

  • Found Images

Empty lobbies, motel corridors, pools drained at an hour nobody can place.

  • Read the Reverse

Every print carries handwriting on the back. Some of it is a warning.

  • Prints Coming

Selected images go to physical print in the shop.

02 — under the lamp

The Light Table

One desk lamp, one humming CRT, one scarred wooden desk. This is where the images arrive, get sorted, labelled and filed — some off tape, some from envelopes with no return address, some taken by us in buildings we cannot find again. Nothing here is staged, corrected or explained. The gallery is simply the pile, laid out flat, with the lamp switched on.

Handling notes: lift by the border, never the emulsion. Prints marked with a time are transcribed exactly as written — we correct nothing, not even the spelling. If an image seems familiar, it may be because you have stood in it. Liminal space and backrooms devotees, ambient and hauntology listeners, analog-horror creators hunting reference, and whoever found this at 3am and wanted somewhere to stay: browse freely, take what you need.
  • Free to Browse

No gate, no login. The pile stays out on the desk for anyone awake.

  • Reference Use

Dreamcore and analog-horror makers mine these frames for source material.

  • Locked Drawer

Supporters get the raw scans, alternates and the frames that never made the pile.

03 — half under the lamp

The Slide Sheet & the Ballpoint on the Back

Six cells to a sheet, held up against the bulb. The contact strip below is how the pile was first catalogued — small, dim, numbered, before anyone decided which frames were worth enlarging. Every print in this gallery began as one of these cells, and every one of them carries writing on the reverse: a place name, a time, a sentence that stops mid-thought.

  • Numbered, Not Named

Cells got numbers first. The names came later, from whoever wrote on the back.

  • Transcribed As Received

We print the note exactly as it was written, mid-thought stops included.

  • Still Arriving

Envelopes keep coming. New frames are added to the pile as they are catalogued.

04 — beside the pile

Prints, Replies and the Envelope Slot

The gallery does not end at the edge of the desk. Selected images go to physical print in the shop — coming soon — while the spiral notebook beside the pile collects replies from receivers who recognise a hallway, dispute a time, or post an image of their own. Leave your address in the envelope slot and the transmission list tells you the moment the crate is opened.

The Forum

Post your own frames, your accounts, your unresolved footage. Someone is always awake.
