Transmissions from the
Liminal Void

Liminal Space is an ongoing broadcast of liminal philosophy, uncanny encounter accounts, found photographs, video transmissions and ambient soundscapes — now housed in the dim records office where the signal is assembled.

01 — the desk

Liminal Space — Transmissions from the Liminal Void

One desk lamp, one humming CRT, one scarred wooden desk where every transmission gets sorted, labelled and sent. The folders, tapes, photographs and cassettes on this surface are the site: pick them up, flip them over, read the handwriting on the back. The ambient signal is already playing — you only have to stop resisting it.

This is not a website designed to resemble an archive. It is a place, containing objects, containing evidence, which happens to be reachable through a browser. Liminal space and backrooms devotees, ambient and hauntology listeners, weird-fiction readers, analog-horror creators hunting reference, and whoever found this at 3am and wanted somewhere to stay: the door was open, so you came in.
  • The Signal

Faint hypnagogic tone under everything; leave it running while you explore.

  • The Desk

Philosophy, Articles, Gallery, Videos, Music, Forum and Shop — as objects, not menu items.

  • No Turning Back

Prolonged exposure has side effects. Mind the doorways.

02 — half open, front and centre

The Manila Folder — Philosophy & Articles

Half open, front and centre: typewriter pages and Xerox toner carrying our disjointed philosophical musings on the nature of existence, plus long-form articles on the liminal, the backrooms, hauntology and the architecture of places that were never meant to be looked at. Lift a page and it comes forward, readable, every word real text you can search, quote and return to at 3am.

  • Liminal Philosophy

Essays on thresholds, non-places, dream logic and the frequency theory of reality.

  • Encounter Accounts

Haunting reports from the edges of perception, transcribed as received.

  • Reference for Makers

Analog-horror and weird-fiction writers mine these pages for source material.

03 — beside the VCR

The VHS Stack — Video Transmissions

Chunky shells beside the VCR, crooked handwritten labels, dates that don't quite add up. Take one, feed it to the deck, and the view cuts to CRT glass while the transmission plays — empty corridors, tracking error, footage nobody admits to shooting.

▮ deck idle — select a shell to load it

  • Handwritten Labels

Each shell names itself in ballpoint: pool, stairwell, hallway B, unmarked.

  • CRT Playback

Watched the way it was meant to be watched — through scanlines and hum.

  • Locked Drawer

Supporters get the desk drawer: unreleased footage and files that never made the shelf.

The Cassette Deck—
Ambient Soundscapes

Drop the tape in and the spools turn. Our hypnagogic ambient soundscapes keep playing while you read the folder and shuffle the photographs — hours of drone, tape hiss and room tone built for sleep, work and the long part of the night. Stream the transmission free; full releases and downloads are available for those who want the signal offline.

  • Continuous Play

The deck runs while you explore the rest of the room.

  • Cassette Releases

Paid downloads and physical tapes for the ambient and hauntology faithful.

  • Built for 3am

Long-form pieces with no vocals, no drops, no exits.

05 — under the pinned clippings

The Notebook, the Crate and the Envelope Slot

A spiral notebook of ballpoint replies sits under the pinned clippings — that's the Forum, where receivers compare sightings, post their own footage and argue about what the signal is. Beside it, a taped-shut crate with a packing slip reading SHOP — COMING SOON: tapes, zines, prints and cassette releases, artifacts imbued with liminal energies that seem to shift in the corner of your eye. Leave your address in the envelope slot and the transmission list tells you the moment the crate opens.

The Forum

Post your accounts, your images, your unresolved footage. Someone is always awake.

PACKING SLIP / 0001 SHOP — COMING SOON. Contents: tapes, zines, prints, cassette releases. Do not open until the signal says so.
